Researchers at Giessen University, led by Dr. Jessica Reichert, are using Artec Spider handheld 3D scanner to study the impact of microplastics and climate change on coral reefs. Traditional methods of studying corals often damage or kill them, but Artec Spider allows for rapid 3D scans of living corals without any physical damage.β β πͺΈ Additionally, the researchers are exploring the use of these scans in other areas of study.
