Funds raised through the 10th Annual Saving the Elephants Run will ensure that anti-poaching vehicles are kept running in-field, monitoring for threats to elephants and other wildlife. These vehicles can clock up to 1,240 miles (2,000km) per month, deploying rangers to hotspot areas, where they can continue patrolling on foot. Reliable vehicles on-the-ground mean that threats to elephants can be tackled quickly and effectively. In 2022, 350,000 indigenous trees were planted adjacent to the protected areas in the Zambezi Valley. This has served to start increasing the space that elephants and other wildlife have to roam, while forming a buffer zone between human habitation and wildlife.
