Earth day 🌎 Everyone always asks me after I tell them that I’m getting a masters in Renewable Energy and Climate Change what they can do to help mitigate it. Stop using single use plastics? Recycle? Drive less? It’s a hard question because it could be a dissertation all within itself. Another question that people like to ask is something along the lines of ‘how much time do we have’ before we surpass the point of no return and is it really going to be that bad? There’s a lot of different lenses in which we could view this from. From the perspective of how it affects you individually, and the unfortunate reality is — not much. If you reside in a developed nation, like here in the states, climate change is on the back burner (especially after coming out of a year + long pandemic) and you might not really notice its cause and effect on you and your daily life. The air quality (you can look on your phone on the weather app) is certainly decreasing, though you may not notice... [TBC]
Tomorrow is earth day 🌱 ✈️ If there’s one thing we learned from the pandemic over the course of the past year or so, it’s how significantly we can cut our emissions when it comes to transportation. Flying could be drastically reduced. What do we think? Will #workfromhome be the new norm? Can companies be economical and environmentally mindful at the same time?
Happy Friday earthings 🌎 I’m curious! Do you guys have any specific questions about climate change? What concerns you? What do you want to learn more about? Microplastics, the U.S. rejoining the Paris climate accord under @joebiden, glacial melts? Let me know in the comments below 👇🏽 #earthdayeveryday #loveyourmother #climateactivism
Happy Valentine’s Day to my forever copilot, love you forever and would follow you to the edge of the earth 🌏
