Takeaway BAGELS and COFFEES from my favourite @sable.richmond 100% plant based cafe in both Richmond and Thornbury 🥯 ♥️ I’ve been having a few insta-free days recently while I’ve been sick with a bad cold 🤒 My partner picked up takeaway from Sable as a pick-me-up and let me tell you… it made me feel a WHOLE lot better. I often go to Sable after a big night out or just for a casual catch up with friends or family. The bagels are absolutely SENSATIONAL! I would recommend it for a delicious meal when you’re not in a rush as it’s super popular! It’s definitely also a yum/treat meal rather than healthy bagels. We had the: -Hangover Cure Bagel -Ace of Clubs Bagel -Oat Cappuccinos My fav was the Hangover Cure… every time I go to Sable this is the first thing I order. Super rich and delicious!! Definitely good for curing a hangover too 😛 While I haven’t been well I’ve been cat sitting for my parents’ cat, Daisy (pictured in the video). @haillilithfootscray is my NEW favourite bar and it’s FULLY VEGAN! I went with @aroneizenberg for some nibbles and drinks to Hail Lilith while we were house sitting in Footscray. It was absolutely incredible! Very edgy vibe with amazing drinks and food! Some of my favourite elements were the grungy vibe and the inclusive feel. I also loved how it’s owners are both queer and one is vegan. It is good to have a place which understands both these minorities. We had the: -Hot Goth Summer Cocktail -Black Dahlia Cocktail -Cheese Board -Mushroom Ceviche -The Lil Burger -Crispy New Potatoes -Ice-cream Sandwich Aron said this was the BEST vegan burger he’s ever had and he’s eaten a lot of vegan burgers before. LOVED going to @oliveoilandbutter 🇬🇷 I spent the week West side cat sitting for an adorable little cat in Footscray with @aroneizenberg . Mia 🐱 was an absolute delight! I came across this amazing gem hidden in Kingsville. It felt like an experience of Greece without the exy plane ticket. It was high end Greek food rather than souvlaki off the street corner. We had the: -char oyster mushroom souvlaki wrap -spanicopita with a side Greek salad -falafel plate *we asked for everything to be made vegan I would eat all of this again! The char oyster mushroom souvlaki wrap was my favourite, super rich and delicious! Brunch at @naturecafebar with @aroneizenberg We had the: -Big Mediterranean breakfast -Poke bowl -2x iced coffees with oat milk *we asked for everything to be vegan I love the vibe of the place! They had so many cute clothes and accessories too. I would definitely go back to try some different dishes. These were good but I had other meals here that I preferred previously. I had a home-made brunch with @brendaschneider199 We had some eggs, tomato, bacon and mushrooms. I’m super lucky that 6 months after I went vegan, my mum, @brendaschneider199 went vegan too. It’s been amazing to go on this vegan journey together. It’s been nice having a mum who can cook amazing vegan food and completely understands my vegan lifestyle. Does anyone else have vegan family members? I’d love to hear about it! The eggs are from @alwaysmeliora - awesome texture, looks super realistic! @beastmelbourne had great vibes and loved the 🍔 🍟 and drinks! The Beast is an awesome venue for food, bevs and live music 🎤 I went with one of my best friends who I met about 10 years ago in opera school 🎶 She went vegan before me and was one of my vegan role models. I remember we went to a vegan fair together and soon after I joined the dark side 😆 We have shared SO much amazing vegan food together over the years. I’ve loved having a close friend who shares my love of veganism and animal rights 🐷 We had the: -Frozen margaritas -Morrissey burger -Kentucky fried Caulfield bites -VSP -House smoked Hummus and chilli butter and chargrilled potato bread *we asked for everything to be made vegan We both felt that the margaritas, VSP and cauliflower bites were massive winners! Fucking. Delicious. Toasties. @tokentoasties Loved having these toasties which are just classics, without trying to be healthy or fancy. The vibe is retro grunge and I loved the music. The menu items are band or song names ♥️ We had the: -Panic! At the Biscoff -Smash -Chickn Magnet -New Found Funghi *we asked for all to be made vegan The standout for me was Panic! At the Biscoff which was a rich dessert toastie filled with Biscoff, banana and maple syrup. I have always been a sweet tooth and love chocolate, biscoff, and caramel flavours. I found out recently that my partner doesn’t like Biscoff… more for me 😈 The standout for mum was the Smash - smashed avo, cheddar, tomato, mayo. Best day ever… OLD MEXICAN FOOD TRUCK came to my work! Complimentary tacos provided by work! Yum 🌮 @dosdiablostruck specialise in catering and events within and beyond Melbourne. I had the Vego Taco - Black Bean with corn salsa *I asked for it to be made vegan It was excellent for a bite to eat, and such a novelty to have it at work! Definitely a snack size so I would recommend several tacos or for nibbles with drinks. It’s inspired me to make some tacos at home too. I love using vegan minced meat as well as refried beans. Lord of the late-night MUNCHIES @lordofthefries1 I always crave Lord of the Fries after a big night out. I absolutely love the chick’n nuggets and the chick’n burger. This time I made a burger stack and it was so decadent! We had the: -BLT burger -original burger -chick’n burger -chick’n nuggets -onion rings -sweet potato chips I have so many memories of nights out with friends at uni and then going to Lord of the Fries on the way home. Loved the bright, airy feel with greenery around. @nicola_bennett_ and I have been friends for over 20 years, and every time we catch up, it’s like no time has passed. This time was an incredibly different catch up though… as she is engaged! I got to see the amazing ring 💍 Good choice @seanyc92 :) It’s so exciting to celebrate this milestone together! We had the: -Acai Bowl -Roast Pumpkin Salad -Nourish Bowl *we asked for everything to be made vegan I would highly recommend the food for after a gym workout, it was yum, filling and healthy. For me, the roast pumpkin salad was a standout dish, I’ve never had an amazing pumpkin salad like that before. I loved taking @georgia_llouise to @wild_yam_cafe ! It’s in a Mordialloc, which is such a hidden gem in Melbourne. I would highly recommend going on a sunny day for lunch and to the beach 🏖 I’d actually never been to Mordialloc until recently. Georgia and I met here doing a Shakespeare play 🎭 It was so much fun and a great excuse to get to know the area and the local eateries. The cafe is 95% vegan - just with the option of non-vegan milk in coffees. It definitely had a healthy, home cooked vibe, and almost all the ingredients are made on-site. We had the: -Chicken Schnitzel Wrap -Housemade pumpkin gnocchi with crispy sage -Super spiced cacao (chilli hot choc) -Dandelion speciality latte with maple syrup I’ve never tried a dandelion latte and it was delicious!
