• A Turkish-Armenian child in Malatya died at a hospital from injuries suffered in the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey on February 6, Armenpress reports. The child’s parents were the two Turkish-Armenians who were killed in the earthquake. • Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says he is not offended when his critics and political opponents call him a “Turk”. “In Armenia, if one wants to gravely insult another, they simply call him a ‘Turk’,” he said, addressing the 4th Global Forum Against the Crime of Genocide in Yerevan. Pashinyan admits that he himself has often been called a "Turk," but he is not offended by it. "I would like to tell all those who tend to insult me that they do not insult me [by calling me a 'Turk’], because I do not take it as an insult," the PM said. He underscored a similar phenomenon also exists in Azerbaijan, when people call their opponents an "Armenian" to insult them. The premier called for rejection of ethnic insults, including on the official level, as a key tool to prevent genocides. “We should reject such phenomena on the official level, making it clear that we don't want the names of nations to be used as an insult. I believe this is one of the most important tools to prevent genocides,” Pashinyan said. • «В Армении необходимо прекратить называть людей, политических оппонентов и противников, например, турками. • Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has met with Turkish citizens in Strasbourg and told them to “react against” the local Armenian diaspora. • India will supply ammunition to Armenia, The Economic Times reports. The governments signed a number of contracts for the supply of arms and ammunition to Armenia earlier this month. It is estimated that weapons worth around 244 million dollars will be supplied to Armenia over the coming months. Sources told ET that the order includes the first-ever export of the indigenous Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers that are already in service with the Indian Army.
