STEPS is closed on September 29th to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30th). On this day, we remember the lost children and survivors of residential schools and acknowledge the strength and resiliency of the First Nations, Inuit, and MĂ©tis peoples. STEPS has an ongoing commitment to cultivating spaces for Indigenous voices to be heard along with paid opportunities for Indigenous artists and arts workers. We encourage you to listen, learn, reflect, and take concrete actions. đČ How does food connect places and people? To celebrate Cooksvilleâs diverse food scene, we asked the community to share their favourite food stories that were incorporated into public art! Cooksville Food Stories was commissioned by the City of Mississauga (@saugaculture) where local artists Debbie Woo (@woohyunji) and Ashley Mozo (@mozoashley) transformed the landmark sign, bus shelters, and electrical boxes with illustrations of Cooksvilleâs food scene.
