These aren’t your typical “American” flavored wings - they’re infused with deeply familiar southeast Asian flavors. You really can’t go wrong with any of their 9 flavors (and counting), but here are my top 3:⠀ ⠀ 1) Dirty Elvis - Wok tossed wings, with a sweet and smokey caramel sauce. Topped with dried chili and green onions - these wings are a work of art.⠀ ⠀ 2) Cambodian Dirt - Lemongrass pepper dry seasoning. Chef Hawk’s take on traditional lemon pepper wings, but better.⠀ ⠀ 3) Sweet Spicy Garlic - Sweet chili sauce with a slight kick to it. “More heat, more garlic, more flavor”. ⠀ ⠀ Got the chance to chat with Hawk (the owner, and an absolutely amazing guy), and you can tell he’s cooking these wings up with so much love. You can choose from a variety of dry or wet seasonings. We chose their Cambodian Dirt. The owners were working the booth. Lovely couple and their dry wit shows on the menu. There aren’t a lot of Cambodian restaurants in LA. I used to go to Golden Lake Eatery in Chinatown, but the Cambodian owner sold it a few years ago. I wrote about Golden Lake Eatery years ago for The LA Weekly. I’ve been to New Kamara Restaurant in Chinatown LA as well.
