Final Reveal! After busting my ass all of last week, my salon redo is done! Man am I tired. But I'm super happy with the results so it was worth it. I'm excited to see my clients reactions! Omg I'm actually posting a photo! Who even am I? Does anyone remember me? Will anyone see this? All valid but pointless questions. I've been meaning to post for awhile but just haven't had the time / energy / drive / interest / you name it. But here I am. For today only. Or maybe I'll be back in a few days or weeks or months. I do miss all of you and I watch most of your stories but rarely scroll my feed so if I haven't commented please forgive me. I've made quite a few changes lately. Mostly in my life - divorce (freedom has never felt so good), older kids going to university, new boyfriend. And that has been reflected in my home. I've been making it more truly my own, diving deep into what feels good to me without having to consult someone else or water down my vision. So I'll share a bit of what I've done here and there, starting with this little seating area for me and the new man to chill and hang in. You may have seen a sneak peek in my stories yesterday. Everything here is thrifted or Craigslist scores as always. Anyway if you've made it this far thanks for indulging me and being a friend. Ok try not to faint from shock but I'm actually posting a pic to my feed. I know, I know...it's probably pointless and no one will see it anyways but in solidarity with my friends @ari_tries_her_best and @theheywhohouse I'm posting this as a big FU to Instagram trying to tell us how we can use this platform. Don't get me wrong, I like TikTok but I don't need another version of it. I actually used to like IG back in the good old days when I could scroll my feed and get major inspo from seeing all the posts from the people I actually follow (and btw if I follow you that is why - you inspire me even if we have different styles or viewpoints). I haven't been posting because it just seemed like a waste of time since a fraction of the people who follow me actually get to see my posts. I continue to do stories so I can keep in touch with the many friends I've made here who I don't want to lose touch with. I barely ever scroll my feed anymore so if I haven't liked or commented please know it's not because I don't love and support you. If you pop up in my feed when I open the app I definitely engage otherwise I'm most just watching your stories to keep up with what's going on in your life. Hi friends! Long time no post! I have been super busy and quite honestly just not feeling it. And posting this late on a Saturday night pretty much guarantees no one will see it but ce la vie. Who doesn't love a good before and after? I think this is a doozy if I do say so myself. This playroom space was overdue for a makeover and here she is in all her new glory! The amazing abstract mural from @limitlesswalls was the inspiration for the style and colors. It really packs a punch and sets the fun tone I wanted for this space. Keeping it real over here and sharing a progress shot of the playroom makeover I've been working on. I'm collaborating with @limitlesswalls and using two of their amazing murals to update our bonus room/playroom space. I've always wanted to do some kind of wall treatment in here to highlight the wall angles and ceiling height. This mural is so fun, playful and graphic - it's really the perfect way to draw the eye into the space. It was a bit tricky to hang but only because of the ceiling angle. The product is a dream to work with. And they have sooooo many designs to choose from! Check out @limitlesswalls page for more ideas. Sorry I've been MIA this week. Life got busy and well that's my only excuse lol. The weather was gorgeous which was a major distraction as well.
