Process of the dash in the vette entered into #ncautointerioroftheyear . I didn't want to stray to far from what factory was. Alot of work went into refining gapping and add just a little detail. Clock was changed to match guages. Vintage air controls replaced radio location. The grab handle on passenger side dash hump was removed. Build process of center console of the vette entered in #ncautointerioroftheyear. Started out reshaping tunnel with type one pvc and then covered carpet in Daytona weave carpet. Then using a combo of type one and expanded pvc I created the base and arm rest of console that is heald in with 10/24 hardware. Then using cast acrylic I created the inserts that are all held in with magnets. This creates a removable console for serviceability. One of the most important things in my builds is to think about the builder and the wiring and components they may need to access. This is the process used to create perfect floors in rear of the the corvette submitted for #ncautointerioroftheyear . All this was built using type one pvc and 16 guage aluminum. A mold was created to make the panels to cover the gigantic wheel wells . Sub inclosure in the back was built to house a single @jlaudioinc sub and amp with built in dsp. It was finished in spray in beadliner just to seal wood and look good and finished when trim panels out. Some of you have see this one I finished earlier this year but here is my official submission for #ncautointerioroftheyear . Alot of thought and design went into this one to keep a "factoryish" style. Before getting started all the floor surfaces were all restyle and reshaped with type one pvc to give a very flat and refined appearance. Then the headliner and headliner trim was addressed. All the roof and and window trim were refined and reshaped buy fabricating a whole new fiberglass piece with all the mounting hardware hidden to clean up the look. Then the transmission tunnel was reshaped to give some symmetry to each side and clean up the look of where the console meets the tunnel. When it came to the door panels I wanted to incorporate some design aspects from a few years of corvettes and little of my flair. The dash is mainly factory I just shaved handle in dash on passenger side and added a little dimension and refinement before wrapping it in some @relicateleather .All of the panels in the entire car are mounted using hidden 10/24 hardware and are behind concealed panels held in by magnets. All the tricks where used on this one . All panels are removable for serviceability incase the builder or owner ever need to get to any one of the many modules it takes to run these modern hot rods. Alot of effort went into fitment and gapping to insure the quality this type of build deserves. There was a panel created for every surface in this vehicle from 16 guage aluminum base and various types of composites to create the shape and style. The steering wheel was a temporary one until the builder received the custom one they had made..
