“We’ve remained firm in always staying small. Although we reached being big at one point, it didn’t last because I knew that wasn’t the goal. The goal instead shifted to keeping a small boutique—a small company,” Toronto-based Marlo Onilla (@marlo_brand_o), principal and creative director of boutique design agency Biography (@biographydesign), shares. “Being small allows you to stay and feel more involved. Last month’s PURVEYR 2023 calendar design was made by Krizel Hidalgo (@titakeks), more commonly known as Tita Keks. A Visual Communication graduate from the Philippine Women’s University, she is a multi-disciplinary artist who currently focuses on sign painting and tattooing. She describes herself as someone who just wants to create beautiful stuff and do what makes her happy. Her final output for the calendar is a reflection of it. “It feels like me, so I am very happy about the outcome,” she shared. A brainchild venture of Quay Concepts (@quayconcepts), along with the brain-power of Marco Baluyut (@marcobaluyut), Carlos Munarriz (@carlosmunarrizz), Moira Cheng (@moira_cheng), Jorge Wieneke (@obese.dogma777), Fern Tan (@ferntan_), Marga Bermudez (@margaonthemic), and Gabs Gibbs (@gabsgibbs). The White Rabbit building holds Ugly Duck (@uglyduckpoblacion) and Apotheka (@apothekamanila), the respective bar and club establishments operating within the building.
