Help is on the way dear! I always try to establish how ready my patients are for the work that is required. Are you in the right head space? Are you motivated? Do you have time? Is this a priority? 16 days down and (day 0, 14 days quarantine and test day 15) now I get to put my toes in the sand and ground myself in my new home! Traveling is not fun at the moment, I hope this changes shortly but for now I hope these little tips make it a tad easier! * most importantly, pack rusks. SA delicacy that not many have tapped into! * pack the converter plugs BUT don’t forget your SA 2-3 prong adaptor 🤦🏽‍♀️ * if you have your period whilst flying, take hand wipes and sani to the bathrooms. * Ask for a better seat, they will make a plan * If you pay for a seat! Take a screenshot of your computer when reserving and payment!!! They will tell you you didn’t and there is no email confirmation including seat details. * pack your liquids into your own see through bags! The ones they supply are tiny and you are only allowed one!! * get a decent pillow for the plane or maybe for the bench you will sleep on 🤷🏽‍♀️ on route! 13 hour layover with no lounges.. nothing but a bench - see last pic 🥱 * while you are at it.. get an eye mask * pay for the extra bag!!!!! You will not find a cheaper option! Extra bags were ~r1600 each, shipping/courier may end up 10x that! * take >1 surgical mask for the flight! If you traveling for 48 hours 🙋🏽‍♀️ you going to want to change it a few times! * hunt down chuckles chocolate before you leave * black pen in your hand luggage! * Vacuum pack your fav pillow and take it with you! Totally worth it! * Check what letters/details you need for your new bank * Visa - if you can do it waaaaaaaay in advance! Difficult for most since they stop when on the red list. You prob don’t need to book a flight prior. * Check ‘travel’ highlights for terminal details * If you going into quarantine - pack those snacks from the airport lounge! * strip and wash yourself in the sink! Worth it! * bus&train rides were more than eager to CRAM all of us in at once! No precautions no windows open! Asking for trouble! See pic! Novelty - new Increases chemicals that aid in paying attention In turn increasing mindfulness and awareness of the “here and now” as opposed to potentially dissociating and reducing pleasure opportunities. 2. If Predictability works for you that’s fantastic! This can work well for those that have a history of pain or trauma. If you feel predictability is impacting your intimate relationship/enjoyability/pleasure … remember ‘communication is lubrication’… ie. Start introducing conversations about preference, pleasure (loads of posts on my page & others about this) 3. If novelty and change is overwhelming. Consider giving yourself the opportunity to explore ‘your why’, if needed chat to your partner about preference and pleasure alternatively chat to a psychotherapist.
