🎼Suggested listening: “Auto & Allo” by @eccopn 🎶 I hope y’all enjoyed the fireworks this weekend, & are ready for more!🎇The exuberant @sw33t_sat0r1 keeps the color coming with each painting & personal interaction. - I first stumbled across his unique vaporwave visionary work online in 2017. He planned a 2018 trip to Colorado for “Confluence”, a 4/20 art showed hosted by @threyda & @apex_collective 🙏 He introduced himself while I was working the @phillewisart Gallery, & met up later. This was the first time I saw the man get in the groove, & learned how much he enjoys vibrantly expressing himself in movement & sound as well as paint🕺I’ve since learned Satori is an encyclopedia of incredible music & visual art, & his excellent taste transmutes into tasty excellence on the canvas. - I’m enamored by many elements of Satori’s work: rainbow pastel palettes, fusion of flow & surreal subjects, elements of sci-fi & graffuturism. “I Know A Place To Go” is an extremely strong example of all of these, & a phrase that he quotes when sharing his intimate knowledge of countless adventures off the beaten path. It is a sister painting to a masterpiece from 2020 titled “Lost in Hyperspace // Loading Zone 777”. He certainly knew many places to go as I captured his creative process. We wanted to showcase his blossoming aerosol skills writing SATOR1 (under the Star Gaze Mafia crew started by @omeka_one ), so we proceeded to trek off trail to an incredible train bridge up Coal Creek Canyon. The river was flowing beyond it’s usual capacity and had the Sweet artisan ankle deep in freezing mountain waters that threatened to sweep him away (there was a momentary misstep and he almost plunged into the raging rapids)… To say he is dedicated to his craft is an understatement!😱 Following this excursion, he showed me another favorite hike in the area; following a fading trail and scrambling up a rock face, he presented me with one of the most epic 360 mountain views I’ve seen🏔👀 - I love the loose initial gestures peeking through, accented by the star gate, angelic wing, firework, & other subjects. His control of glazing is top notch, creating layers of transparent rainbow goodness🌈

👾This one packs a punch from another dimension🥊 @ilyssavisuals went for an ocular knockout with this vibrant and juicy jawn. I have been enamored since my first encounter with Ilyssa and her one of a kind aesthetic. -
Having discovered her works through a collaboration with @mad.house_art resident @bohlguy at his solo show titled “Objects May Appear”, it was one of only a couple pieces featuring another artist, and I’m so glad he chose for her objects to appear on my radar! 📡 After watching that gorgeous collab sell right out from under my intrigued eyes, I decided to keep tabs. 👀 The day following the show while visiting Bohlin, I was graced by her presence and got to meet this gentle soul before she headed back home to New Jersey! I was later informed of her artistic upbringing with other resident artists @_sel.one and @jeremy_legge as these young up and comers dialed in their technical skills and found their unique voices on the canvas. - With a fantastical approach influenced by legendary zoological illustrator Ernst Haeckel and the great optical master MC Escher, her forms pull from both the organic and the mechanical. Her work evokes nostalgia from biological illustrations that littered my childhood home, as well as the “Gundam” TV show, yet remains a fresh presentation of shapes and colors. - “Portal Punch” is an excellent offering that showcases so much of what I’ve come to love in Ilyssa’s work, with an absolutely stunning color palette: •Rounded objects reminiscent of plant forms meet hard lines 🏵✴️ •The plaid style background set off against the negative space diamond really showcases the central subject, with twinkling stars delicately placed teasing your eyes as you scan away from the central focal points ✨ •The “network” of dots is something new that she brought forth to connect the background and foreground and provides an abundance of depth ⚛️

🤗 I can’t imagine a more fitting selection of works from the marvelous @mollygardnerart ; on a thematic level, this triptych hit me hard, and the timing of their release ties wonderfully into our individual and collective stories.📖 Molly has long been an instrumental part of the visionary art scene and our creative community in Colorado and on a national scope. I’ve heard it said and agree fullheartedly that she is the ultimate social glue that binds us all together, and has weaved many wonderful webs of connection that criss cross the country, bringing together visual artists, musicians, dancers, appreciators and collectors, anyone and everyone who wants to contribute to the scene with their positive energy.🕸As with most who cross her path, I was immediately drawn in by her bright, outgoing and amicable demeanor, particularly in the Summer of 2016 during @sonic_bloom_ Festival. Our first professional endeavor together, I hired Molly for the @420ontheblock in 2017. Molly has quite the incredible story: As a largely self-taught artist, she has been dialing in and expanding on her unique style for over a decade.👩‍🎤While her renditions of animal and human forms sharpened up, and the playful vivid waves of abstract expression became second nature, a pain in her right wrist became worse and worse. Just over a year ago, she discovered she had a rare degenerative bone disease and would likely lose immense mobility of her painting hand in addition to the pain. What followed was an incredible show of bravery, persistence, and the ability to improvise, which is critical in this style of artwork. She began learning to paint with her left hand, and over the course of a year and a successful experimental surgery, has become an awe inspiring ambidextrous anomaly.
