A look back at project: BLACK Last November, we were invited by Risette to exhibit at their Valletta space. “Black” was a realm in which the forces at play were those on the flipside of perceived reality. The looks were recreations of a collection released five years ago, but in black; the soft crêpes replaced by paper-like taffeta; the gowns worn inside out; the corsetry worn outside like an exoskeleton. At Luke Azzopardi Studio, we're moving away from presenting garments as products of fashion and towards each one being a wearable art piece. Fabrics used are archival; they carry older stories.
