The Sandals Foundation has supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the donation of 140 mammograms that have been earmarked for women in rural Jamaica. The donation marks the foundation’s continued partnership with the Jamaica Cancer Society and MistyBlue Cancer Care Foundation. The decomposing body of a man was found with gunshot wounds to the head and upper body in bushes in Salt River, Clarendon on Tuesday. Police have identified him as 43-year-old Merrick Aries of a St Andrew address as well as of Ajax in Ontario, Canada. A powerful Haitian gang leader has been charged by United States prosecutors with ordering the kidnapping of an American couple from their home in Haiti, which left the woman dead, authorities said Tuesday. Vitel'Homme Innocent — who remains at large and is believed to be living in Tabarre, Haiti — was also charged last year in the 2021 kidnappings of Christian missionaries.
