Let’s talk about travel to Belize during green (rainy) season. Prior to heading to Hamanasi earlier this month, We read about the horrors of travel during rainy season, which honestly had us a bit stressed. However it turned out to be an unexpectedly wonderful experience. Despite our worries about bad weather, we were pleasantly surprised to find clear skies and warm sunshine throughout most of the day every day. The rain mainly fell at night and in the early mornings (which was actually really nice), allowing us to enjoy all the outdoor activities without any interruptions. If you’re considering booking a trip during rainy season, here are some pros and cons to bear in mind: Pros: - Cheaper travel costs due to less demand - Less crowded tourist areas, giving you a more authentic experience - Lush, green scenery with fewer tourists Cons: - Higher chance of rain disrupting outdoor activities - Mosquitoes may be more prevalent due to standing water - Some popular destinations may have limited accessibility due to weather conditions. A core memory about our time at @hamanasi_resort is how they helped three generations of our family overcome a fear of water. A memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life. if you know me, you know that everything that I do is rooted in breaking generational curses. While I knew that I wanted to learn to swim on my trip to Hamanasi, I had no idea the level of impact this experience would make on my entire family. I could go on and on about how patient and knowledgeable the instructors were and how comfortable they made us feel. I definitely did not make it easy on them and if I know my mom, I know she didn’t either 😂 but they never gave up on us and they never let us give up on ourselves and that is something I am so thankful for. We went from everyone being skeptical about snorkeling to everyone raving about how they can’t wait to snorkel again. After years of convincing, my mom took her first international trip with us to Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort, Belize. When we travel, the boys spend half their time asking if they can “FaceTime big mama to show her where they are”. However, my mom isn’t a big traveler and has a different comfortability level than us when it comes to accommodations, food, activities etc. It was great having the peace of mind in knowing that Hamanasi was able to customize our experience to meet all of our individual needs so that all we had to worry about was making memories.
