Designed by Shohei Shigematsu, an architect from Fukuoka, the unique and beautiful building is characterized by boldly carved pixelated glass façades. There are commercial facilities on the lower floors and offices on the upper floors. The second basement floor is directly connected to the Tenjin Chikagai - Underground Shopping Mall, and there is a restaurant zone called “Tenjin Inachika”. ＜fukuokapics5月：福岡市赤煉瓦文化館＞ 今から100年以上も昔、明治時代に建てられたこの福岡市赤煉瓦文化館は、国の重要文化財として指定されています。 19世紀末にイギリスで流行した様式を取り入れたそのスタイルは、東京駅の駅舎と同じ建築家により日本生命九州支社として作られました。 現在1階は福岡市文学館として開放されており、入館は無料です。外観だけでなく、内観の美しさにも目を見張るものがありますよ。✨ This beautiful building, Fukuoka Akarenga Cultural Center was built over 100 years ago, originally the office of an insurance company by the same architects who designed Tokyo Station. Akarenga means red brick, and it incorporates a style which was popular in England at the end of the 19th century. It is designated as an important cultural property of the country and it's free for the public to enter the first floor cultural center. ＜ fukuokapics5月：博多湾クイーンエリザベス＞ 世界で最も有名な豪華客船と言われるクイーン・エリザベス号が先日、初めて博多港に立ち寄りました。 全長約３００メートル、なんと２０００人以上の旅客を乗せることのできるその船体は、海上にそびえたつ巨大なビルのようです。 様々な場所からやってくる客船たちを博多港の湾岸から眺めるだけでも心が躍りますね。🚢 The Queen Elizabeth, often referred to as the most famous luxury cruise ship in the world, stopped at Hakata Port for the first time. The total length is about 300 meters and she can carry more than 2,000 passengers. It looks like a huge building towering over the sea. Along with Fukuoka Airport and Hakata Station, Hakata Port Terminal is one of Fukuoka's major transit hubs for both domestic and international travel.
