Football Australia has thrown its support behind Federal, State, and Territory Government COVID-19 vaccination campaigns with the launch of its ‘#VaxxedToBeBack’ initiative featuring representatives from across Australia’s large, diverse, and multicultural football family. This comes off the back of Football NSW's Vaccination campaign that was headlined in August this year encouraging the Football family to get vaccinated. Football Australia’s #VaxxedToBeBack initiative – which is being conducted in concert with all nine (9) Member Federations across the nation – seeks to encourage members of Australia’s broad football community to share the reasons why they’ve been vaccinated as Australia strives to emerge from the global pandemic.

Football NSW is throwing its support behind @newsouthwaleshealth In promoting Sport Super Sunday to encourage vaccinations this weekend. Priority appointments for people aged 16-39 from 12 Local Government Areas of concern are available at Qudos Bank Arena and the NSW Health Vaccination Centre at Sydney Olympic Park and the Vaccination Centre at Macquarie Fields this Sunday 29 August, for all sports lovers. Those aged 16 to 39 who live in Bayside, Blacktown, Burwood, Campbelltown, Canterbury Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool, Parramatta, Strathfield or Penrith, should make a booking at www.nsw.gov.au/vacc16-39. You can also book by calling on 1800 57 11 55. Wear your team kits, colours, or gear and take a selfie to post on your social media channels with the hash tag #vaccinationchampion Every person who gets vaccinated is making a difference and will help get us all back to sport sooner. By teaming up, NSW Health can vaccinate as many people as possible to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Football NSW has rolled out a campaign by various football representatives urging the community to vaccinate via this special video message. Those featured include former NSW Premier and now Football NSW director Morris Iemma, Clr. Khal Asfour - Mayor of the City of Canterbury Bankstown, former Socceroos coach Les Schienflug, football presenter Mariana Rudan, Football NSW director Stephanie Brantz as well as prominent NSW born footballers and coaches Peter Tsekenis, Jean Paul de Marigny and Alen Stajcic to name a few. Football NSW is urging everyone to give Covid-19 the boot. With the support and help of everyone in the football family, it’s a step in the right direction in giving this disease a red card and for many of us, a pathway in getting back to doing the things we love, such as playing the world game. #FootballAsOne for the betterment of all, fighting Covid-19 together.

On Friday 7th May, @footballcanterbury hosted their annual Female Football Week Festival at Pratten Park. With over 100 participants all involved in games and skill sessions, appearances from @sydneyfootballclub’s @allygreeen and @remyysiemsen and inflatables provided by Football NSW and @wswanderersfc, the night was a huge success and a great way to showcase what Female Football Week is about.
