Locarno goes to Italy! At the end of the month, those living in Milan and in Rome will be able to get a taste of the #Locarno75 program thanks to the events "Le vie del cinema" and "Il cinema attraverso i grandi Festival". The films shown will be "Regra 34", "Gigi la legge", "Medusa Deluxe", "Astrakan", "Semret" and (only in Milan) Locarno's Spring Academy project: "Let's Make Something!". All films will be accompanied by special guests, join us in Milan on September 23-25 and in Rome on September 27th. See you there!

Locarno goes gender-neutral! We are pleased to announce that starting in 2023, our acting awards will no longer be gender-based. We will present Pardo awards for best performances within the major competitions, Concorso internazionale and Concorso Cineasti del presente, allowing every performer, irrespective of their gender identity, to compete for the awards. It's been a tough week for the world of cinema, @giona.nazzaro once again pays tribute to a great filmmaker and Festival friend: Jean-Luc Godard (Pardo d'onore 1995). "What resurfaces in my memory today is his desire to always have a conversation, to create possibilities for dialogue. Godard would ask questions. He would floor with his questions, but he was the first, always, to counter the cult of cinema and his own." Time to celebrate Swiss festivals! Starting this Thursday, the 10 Film Festival @palacinema_locarno, will start its 10-month-long journey with the night dedicated to the Locarno Film Festival. Our Artistic Director, Giona A. Nazzaro, chose "Rome, Open City" by Roberto Rossellini, as the film of the night. We are giving away 2x10 tickets for the screening to the first people that message us to tell us their favorite film they have seen in Locarno. Best of luck to all!
