Now that we’re back to school and Fridays hold even more excitement, it’s time to get back on our weekend wines, where we share a little bit about the wines we’re drinking, loving, and anticipating popping open for the days ahed. We are currently obsessed with both the blanc and rouge from Domaine des Ardoisières, a picturesque vineyard headed by Champagne native Brice Ormont that is nestled into the steep & rock foothills of Mont Blanc in Savoie, France. biodynamically farmed, the white,100% Jacquere, is refreshingly acidic with a crunchy minerality. Fresh squeezed citrus, crushed stone & coarse salt keep you coming back for more. The red is 100% Mondeuse whole cluster fermented in a mix of cement, stainless & neutral oak barrique. On the nose it's savory & woodsy with notes of wild strawberries & fresh chevre. On the palate it is fresh & playful with tart tannins & a crisp acidity. Today is a big day here at Cured as we enter the double digits, a decade of being Cured. It’s hard to believe that 10 years ago today we first opened our doors, completely clueless, completely overwhelmed, and so naively excited for what lay ahead. We were kids, 25 and 30 years old, unmarried, with no children of our own, freshly back from Europe with so much energy, excitement and ambition to start a business and create a reality out of this romantic idea we’d been scheming and dreaming over the previous years. Looking back on it now, it is laughable how unprepared and unqualified we were. But it turns out that sometimes, just every once in a while, passion and the ability to suffer and work really, really hard, is enough. Since we opened our door 10 years ago we have learned, we have grown, we have been challenged, we have failed, we have succeeded, we have struggled, we have thrived, and most importantly, we have had a whole lot of fun along the way. Cured has become so much more than a cheese shop, it has become our connection to each and every one of you, and we feel thankful every day for all the richness and joy that those connections bring. So tonight, we’re drinking all the champagne and celebrating the last 10 years, and the next, and the next. Cheers friends!! 🍾 🎉🎊
