This year marks 25 years of running my studio, and to commemorate, I decided to make a book. I've been lucky enough to make some books before (10 in fact!) but this one is different. ‘Book of Girls' is an archive of my work over the past few decades, told through the pages of my sketchbooks, photos & assorted ephemera. These pages are deeply personal to me, and show the insides of my life & work & truly do bare my soul. I handed the sketchbook pages over to @tric.studio, who digested them and assembled them into this beautiful format. ‘Book of Girls’ is self published project, which is scary & risky (& thrilling), but it’s the only way I wanted to, or could make this book. ‘Book of Girls’ is now available for pre-order (link in profile!). If you ever wanted to support my work, ordering this book would be the best way to do that! The official launch will be May 25th, more details on that shortly. MUSH / ROOM is now open in the Children’s gallery @sam_shepparton! In MUSH / ROOM, I look at the process of playing with ideas, using mushrooms and fungi to illustrate the way ideas can unexpectedly pop up from our imagination, like mushrooms spawning suddenly from the ground. I hope Kids and the young at heart will enjoy these colourful creations, made from an array of media to form fantastical fungi, from towering Puffballs to the tiniest Milkcaps, presenting a MUSH of different mediums in a ROOM full of mushrooms. Excited for my next exhibition MUSH / ROOM @sam_shepparton! Over the past few months I’ve been collecting & making all manner of objects to create a cluster of mushrooms forms, which will be spawning in the children’s gallery from September 16! @phamstapham came to my studio & took some progress shots - this is my first attempt at making process-driven work, it’s been scary for someone who likes to plan everything, but gotta get out of that comfort zone right? Play! Spectrum closes this Friday. Thanks for all the visitors over the past two months, by all reports it’s been loved & played in A LOT. I’m thrilled it’s had such a great reception! I made a new collaboration with @keen_japan! This time I lent my hand to the Yogui sandal, with a gradient based on volcanic ash coloured sunsets. @cocostar._ modeled & @photosby_ellieking took some beautiful pics in the late summer studio garden - a dream combo! The Yogui sandal is available now in Keen stores & stockists throughout Japan and South East Asia (sadly no Australia). Wise girl @hellosisi_ told me this week Girl Boss is dead, & Snail Girl era has began : go slow / think long / take your time / relax. It will still get done.

PLAY! SPECTRUM is now open at Broadmeadows Town Hall! An interactive exhibition based around light & colour, with a glowing firefly room, a wall of bubble wrap for popping, giant magnetic heads with interchangeable faces, a mirror butterfly, and lots of other things too. Oh and my friend Big Ted is in residence & waiting for hugs & jumps! This exhibition was made with lots of recycled materials & on a tight budget, which makes me even more proud of it! The show runs through the school holidays (mon-fri only!) and then until Fri Aug 11. Gigantic thanks to @_feyzayazar_ for being a dream to work with alongside everyone else from @humecitycouncil - the nicest team EVER! Layer upon layer of materials & objects in the studio atm as we prepare for new show ‘Play!Spectrum’ at Broadmeadows Town Hall, opening June 17. Play!Spectrum is an extension of my exhibition at Hamilton Regional Gallery last year, & will have Big Ted in residence, alongside a series of kid-friendly interactive pieces focusing on light & colour. These themes coincide with @humecitycouncil ‘Hume Winter Lights’ - a family event with light projections, music, ice-skating & lots of other activities, which opens in the same night! See you there!
