Our take on the Portuguese classic - Prego no prato. We use HG Walter onglet steak, also known as the hanger steak, this cut hangs close to the diaphragm which gives it that unique offal flavour. It’s best served pink. The onglet steak is served with homemade straw potato for some crunch and Esparragado & slow cooked egg yolk, which when mixed together creates the perfect sauce! #BarDouro

Abade de Priscos is a rich yolk pudding created in the 19th century by the Abott of Priscos, a small parish near Braga. Joaquim Manuel Rebelo (The Abott of Priscos) was well known for his culinary skills and was even summoned to cook for the royal family, whenever they visited the Northern part of the country. The pudding combines egg yolks, sugar, cinnamon, lemon, port wine, and pork lard 🤤 #BarDouro

We return to the Lisboa region for this quarter’s red selection with the Monte Bluna Tinta Miúda 2019, from the Arruda DOC sub-region, just south of Alenquer. Described by Sarah as a wine lovers’ lighter vin de soif style, this Tinta Miúda has uncommon intensity and lovely freshness and piquancy, with lifted pimento, fresh grated horseradish, white pepper and inky floral notes to its vivid wild cherry, blueberry and earthy beetroot palate.
