GETTING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!! Since I was a child, I have considered myself an introvert. One of my biggest fears was to talk in front of people. I remember admiring a speaker in my middle school who for some reason inspired me to speak in front of people one day. However, I was always frightened to even raise my hand to respond a question in high school, or do a small presentation in front of my classmates in college. Progressively, as I started to get immersed into my art and needed to communicate what I was doing, I started to feel a bit more comfortable when talking in front of people. I realized that communicating was very important especially if you are telling your story. Through the years, public speaking or even speaking in front of a small group of people has been one of my biggest challenges. I have learned that public speaking is only talking about what you 'know' and 'like' from your heart. So looking at these photos and knowing that I was able to share my story from my heart in front of a lot of people through this amazing and world wide renowned platform of @ted , motivates me even more to keep growing in this area and pushes me to never stay in my comfort zone. If you have a fear for something, I encourage you to face it and do something about it every day. One day you will see that it was all in your mind and that we all are capable of overcoming our biggest fears. FINISHED!!! After 3 years of arduous painting, I have finally finished what could represent my new signature. This series is a tribute to all the different street vendors from Mexico whose professions are slowly disappearing. "Floating Dreams" makes homage to the balloon men that beautify public squares. They go beyond bringing smiles to those who purchase balloons by offering an array of dreams floating through town squares. The details! Every flower and plant was painted with a brush and exterior paint on the wood siding. All the elements surrounding form a big heart in the middle. These murals are composed of 3 parts: a wall that faces the street, which turns around the apartment complex, and another wall next to it, separated by a staircase. Sneak peek of the progress of the last few weeks. This mural is part of four murals for the new renovation of an apartment complex by NRG Stadium. Rebranding it with the name of Alegria (Happiness), these murals will depict different styles of celebration and joy expressed by flora, air, water, and earth. Each of them will be linked to a major sport. This one depicts the progress of Flora with football. The concept took 2-3 weeks to development, and the painting of the mural itself has been made in the last 10 days, working 7-8 hours per day, rain or shine. #Alegria #HoustonMural #mural #Houston #football #sports
