Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Tracy Ley Orencio @mstracyleyofficial

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am from the Philippines but been living in Dubai UAE for about 17 years now. I work in a financial sector and private banking company for 7 years and I blog, review beauty products (part time) and obsessed with anything to do about make up.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My instagram consists mainly of beauty products and make up. I do make up looks from time to time but I am big on reviewing skin care products and make up.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Well, it started when my friends would always emphasize on the Ms. They would call me, MsTracyLey all the time. So when I signed up for Instagram back in 2010, I used it.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mainly use snapseed, beauty plus, fotorus and camera 360.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Instagrammers who inspires me the most would be, Wayne Goss, Desi Perkins, Carli Bybel, Kat Von D and Showmemakeup.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

They need to try more of the lush cosmetics products because in all honesty, they are to die for and really good for your skin and hair.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It will be that I inspire someone to dream big and always work hard towards their goals in life. I get to share the things I love on a daily and also, loving it at the same time. I also love that I empower women to better themselves.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

There’s a lot of hype nowadays about the power of branding – especially personal branding, in the case of influencers – but I think what we shouldn’t forget is that people don’t respond to brands – people respond to people. When I collaborate with brands, I make sure that it’s still MY story that I tell, because that’s what my followers tune in for. Netizens nowadays are very clever. They can almost always can tell if a piece of content is sponsored, so I’ve made it a policy to always be honest and forthright.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I always believe that we live in a fake it till you make it world, so personally the importance of quality and maintaining original is a massive deal. My advice is, be true to yourself, stay humble, learn to accept critics and mistakes in life and never stop learning. Your content should always represent that quality is better than quantity. Try and represent who you really are instead of copying someone else.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I pick which brands I partner with. I dont partner with brands that has nothing to do with what I love and what I represent. If its all for the love of beauty products and make up, then I am all for it. Partnering with brands can be tricky because they expect you to say something good about their product, right?! Its not the case for me. I would tell my followers and supporters if a brand is good or not. I have always remain true to myself and to the people about reviews. I like partnering with brands though as it just shows that you can carry yourself to represent their brand and its truly an honor to be doing so.
