1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I am half Italian, half American and I grew up in Munich, Germany. I started out as a professional athlete in In-Line skating during the 90`s and transitioned from sports into the media business. Initially I started out as a camera man and over the years I`ve added directing & producing to my skill set.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
In general I love everything related to nature, lifestyle and sports. Especially the “real” moments are essential to me. By using analog film to capture these moments I try to emphasise these “real” moments – I do not photoshop or post-process the images in any way.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
M.A. are obviously my initials and I just added “film” as all my images are shot on film.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
No editing done – eventually I do a little bit of cropping or straightening of the images but that is it.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
In general I follow and I am inspired by the large and vast film community on instagram as well as all my favorites and buddies from the action sports scene.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Do more of your pictures in camera and don`t always over process the images !
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I enjoy sharing knowledge about photography and finding new ways and topics to collaborate. It is a great ways to stay inspired and improve your craft.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
I think people should focus even more on content & quality of stories . Further it isn`t that easy to find stories and people that are truly authentic – be more precise on the research of people & their stories.
Last but not least: a good story and a professional service should be worth some money and building a professional relationship. A strategy helps you find the right direction.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
In the long run this is crucial. With all the fake content and artificial stories on the web, people value authenticity and will be loyal in the long term. Always try to achieve the best possible result.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
It often adds value to the story and/or production and helps grow ideas and stories. Associating a certain brand with a specific story also often also enhances competence and image for both parties.
I love expanding possibilities this way.
