Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Chris Taylor @ChrisTaylorDJ

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a Cape Town based DJ/producer but over the past year I have started turning my attention to film/photography. I am originally from Harare in Zimbabwe but I was born in Hong Kong.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Mostly lifestyle stuff, some shots of me Djing and some of my beautiful girlfriend ? I like to post inspirational quotes as captions.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s just my name with DJ at the end haha

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Enlight and Snapseed, and then I usually put my photos through 2 sometimes three Instagram filters on a very low ratio.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Posting portrait instead of landscape and using the right hashtags can make a massive difference on the interaction you get.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I like to think I inspire people to follow their dreams. But I also just want to make people happy, whether I do that through music or pictures doesn’t matter ?

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Just be you.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think it’s super important to maintain high quality posts and develop original content because you will end up losing followers and certainly not gaining anyone new ones if your account looks dirty.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It’s cool to be able to help brands grow and if you link with the right brands you feel like you are part of a family!
