Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sydney Alexis @sydney_alexis3

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Heyo! Photography is my passion, and has been since the fourth grade. I am currently posted in the Denver area working as a freelance photographer and also working for Wilhelmina Denver. I was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, so coming to Colorado has been a big change!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My interests vary on a wide scale of things. Most of my life is dedicated to school and photography. I post on Instagram a lot of urban photos as of right now. I made the switch recently from a more nature page because I wanted to follow my passion rather than doing what everyone else was doing.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name on Instagram has never changed since the start of the app itself. I have had an Instagram since the release, and so when I made my account almost all the Sydney Alexis’s were taken. At the time (I dont know if they still do) Instagram offered suggestions or alternatives if your username you wanted was taken, and it recommended @sydney_alexis3. It stuck. All my accounts on any website is that username now.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Lightroom only. There’s not much to my editing routine besides the fact that I throw them in there, pick a preset, and export them. It takes me about an hour to edit/sort through over 400 pictures.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

One thing all you Insta people gotta do is new angles. Lots of people ask me how I do street so well and make it all different each time, and that’s the secret to every photo. ANGLES.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer is most definitely inspiring others. I always love that.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Some tips for brands would definitely be:
1. make sure your products are diverse
2. give specific instructions if you have a certain look to your feed
3. be willing to pay people. time is money and don’t be cheap.

For me maintaining authenticity just comes from my gut. While I shoot I get into a zone where everything else becomes close to zero importance. I always am looking while I am driving for new photo spots. When I see something cool ill drop a pin real quick to remember.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Don’t copy. That is so frustrating as an artist to see someone lacking originality. Be yourself, and be confident in your work and the quality. It truly does matter how you feel about your work too, not just how others feel about it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love partnering with brands because I get to show them off and help them get out there a little more. I dont have a huge following but I try my best with all my social medias.
