Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Stefon Jackman @sjckmn

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Just a big city kid from Toronto, Ontario, Canada with big city dreams of being a professional photographer. I currently work at Bell Media as a Story Editor but also on the side am building up my photography portfolio/brand.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post mostly lifestyle, so all the weekend adventures I go on with friends and travel pictures from various locations I have been to over the years.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name comes from my first and last names (Stefon Jackman) just with the a’s taken out of my last name

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mostly use VSCO + Lightroom to edit my pics, my editing routine consists of making sure my pics still look as natural as possible while appliying subtle filters to them, tweaking exposure just a touch and either making the shadows and highlights more prevalent in the subject. The process as a whole takes around 25-30 min per picture.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

One instagrammer that inspires me the most is @j.milhouse, i’ve been following him for a little over 2 years now and he’s been a big influence on me wanting to take my skills to the next level. I’ve never met him before though so one day I would hope to meet him.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Just be yourself, don’t follow trends…if people like the content you create the followers and opportunities will come.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part would be just knowing that i’m helping someone else work towards their dreams by inspiring them or working with them.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

To maintain authenticity just keep it simple, everyone likes a nice clean advertisement. and stick to your target demographics don’t fall astray from that.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The importance of quality and original content is that everyone is trying to acheive the same goal, it is okay to be inspired by certain aspects of someone’s photography style but you should never copy someone else’s style. People will react negatively to that.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Just working with them to get their products to reach the selected audience, just working with people to create things excites me.
