Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Rafael Lodos @Rafaellodos

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I have live in London most of my life having moved here from Brazil at the age of four. I lived in America for a few years while in university and enjoy traveling as often as I can. I work with music and photography mainly, but have also, most recently, began to develop and affinity for entrepreneurial endeavours.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Whatever is most interesting, new and intriguing, or beautiful to me at the time. What is very interesting in Instagram is how you can invite people into your perspective, through one photo at a time. In the midst of an Instagram feed full of beautiful pictures and your friends latest whereabouts you get to Look through all those different people’s eyes, even if only for a second.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I think some couple gave it to me around the time of my birthday when I was really young.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

If I’m posting a picture from my DSLR I’ll upload it to Lightroom and give it a quick touch up Then pop it over to Dropbox from where I’ll download it to my phone and open it on VSCO to give it a bit more of life where I c an see it how it will look on a phone screen. If I took the photo on my iPhone I will probably use VSCO or whatever other app. If there’s ever a lot I need to do I’ll try and do in on my computer in Lightroom or photoshop before the final look through on my phone.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I think my favourite Instagram account would have to be @kat_in_nyc. It is Kat Irlin’s account and I fall in love with pretty much any picture she posts.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Taking two similar pictures, editing the hell out of one of them with all the filters and colour inhansmant you can get. Then accidentally posting the other unedited picture in a half-drunk haze of sleepiness.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Being able to share the things I like and find worth sharing with people who have chosen to follow me. I think it creates a really cool pseudo-relationship of trust and sharing.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Use incredible pictures, taking dominoes breath away is the best way to make them notice you. As well as actually sharing what you like instead of only what you want to sell. Share your personality. Once they like you they’ll love your product.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think it might be the most important thing. People might only look at your post for two or three seconds. But, in those seconds you can transport them somewhere, cause an emotion, make them laugh, or whatever else you’re going for. An amazing image can bring a smile to someone’s day.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Ideally, associating myself with an Organization I support while also helping them grow. As well as bringing awareness to my friends and followers to brands and companies I think they’d enjoy, use, or buy from.
