Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: SAL CORREA @SBxSike

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Im from NY right now Im working on 2 albums as well as working as an in house engineer at an upcoming recording studio in Brooklyn.
Ive been making music for 5 years and absolutely love everything about it, without the music who knows where I’d be.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are music, fashion and art.
I post a lot of fashionable content as well as music posts and just things in everyday life that inspire me and I feel may help inspire others.
My real goal with social media is to inspire others to live the life they deserve with the means they have.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

When I was a baby my parents called me “Sugar Bear” but being 21 year old man I decided to shorten it to SB.
When I was younger I was extremely interested in graffiti, back when I used to draw I went by the name “Sike” and that’s something that just stuck with me.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Glitché, photoshop and the built-in filters on instagram.
There is no specific routine I just want each picture to speak for itself so I do what I can to make them unique.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I can’t think of any specific instagrammers off hand but I do love fashion and lifestyle pages because they give me ideas and concepts on how I can make myself more up to date on the current trends in order to build my own.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

They need to try and write a song, even if you don’t do anything with it you’d be surprised how therapeutic it is to lose your thoughts and feelings in the rhythm.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

The love that people show me on my posts and DM’s is what keeps me going. Also, the fans I’ve built and the types of people I’ve attracted to my music is amazing. It all seemed so unreal a year ago.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Don’t promote anything you couldn’t see yourself using.
I keep it authentic by doing just that, I only promote things that I absolutely love otherwise whats the point of trying to promote something.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Always be original.
We are all different people with unique ideas and personalities and that’s what makes you special. People recognize when something doesn’t feel authentic so why waste time being something that isn’t you.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The exposure to new items and potential relationships you can build with different brands and people is so amazing. The opportunities are awesome because not everyone experiences it so its special.
