Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sheniqka Miller @shyneniqka

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am SHYNE, born Sheniqka Miller on April 24, 1991. I am a Florida native who loves to take long walks on the beach, simply because I enjoy moments of solidarity. Maybe its my artist heart or loner spirit but I find myself happiest in peaceful silence. Until recently I did not label myself as a writer. After experiencing years of writer’s block I am back at it with a whole new outlook on life. I have been through so many changes in this life that it has revolutionized me. I have found myself removing all that may distract me from my greatest passions and going after all that naysayers said that I couldn’t. I began contributing articles to several bloggers and received amazing feedback of the content I produced. Soon collaborating with other creatives where I can offer creative content that I have dreamed up and produced became my stigma. I began to find myself!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest lies within promoting the importance of loving yourself. My self-care tips for natural hair transformed into promoting visuals that are aimed to encourage and empower other creatives with a vision to share. By using simplistic beauty as my main concept of focus, I wanted to reflect my best self to the masses as a contributing writer. Any and everyone can truly find out what their purpose is in life, but we must look within ourselves (talk to that little boy/girl whose dreams has been long forgotten) and start by showing them some love. You may be surprised how changes on the inside gravitates outward for the betterment of your overall self!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I created my Instagram name by using a play on words. My name is Sheniqka, and my friends/family interchangeably call me either “Shy” or “Niqka”.
My mission/goal as a creative entrepreneur is to shine light on as many talented individuals I could. I believe that there is enough light among us all to shine together. Thus my Pseudonym “SHYNE” was birthed. I decided to merge it with my nicknames. My followers are my friends/family, so why not?

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Honestly, I tried a variety of apps. I do change it up often due to the amount of changes and updates one app may go through. At times, bugs in an app can be time-consuming and frustrating. So I love utilizing CANVA.com for any captioned visuals. Memes are very popular and eye-catching on Instagram and tend to be shared more often than other content. I love creating inspirational photos for my followers as they witness me on this journey of self-love and empowerment. It keeps my page interactive and open to my followers to give feedback. Keeps it fun!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

An Instagrammer that inspires me? That would have to be @tribecalledkush !
Poet, Creative Director, Brand Ambassador, and overall boss of social media I absolutely loved every photo she placed on her feed. It is inspirational to all dreamers and doers out in the world. We are witnessing her growth and it proves my theory that once we start to love on ourselves and focus on our greatest passions, distractions of the outside world infested in negativity will no longer phase you. You will be aware of your own needs and desires and you will improve on them. The transformation this Instagrammer went through (as we all watched) is truly beautiful. My aim is to one day spotlight these individuals on a major platform. I believe our community can benefit from seeing these transformations and feel inspired to start their own.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer must be the freedom to try out new things and can give my honest feedback and opinion of the product to my followers. My followers expect full honesty and I am all about delivering the scoop on new and amazing products that promotes and encourage self-love for its consumers!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Keep it honest! Keep it fun! Keep it interactive! We absolutely love campaigns that require follower participation and recognition!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Staying true to who you are is very important! Being yourself and maintaining your authenticity connects you with your followers and will build a sense of a loyal community on your page. Keep your content as original as you can make it. Quality over quantity is also important to keep in mind because you will build more traffic since more people are attracted to quality visuals.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love collaborating with other creative entrepreneurs whom I can learn from. Being able to communicate and network with a variety of business owners and vendors who are extremely effective in meeting their end goals has truly been a learning experience. So far, I have been profoundly blessed to work with a few companies and even landed some amazing mentors along the way!
