Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Raven Smith @theravensmith

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I was born in Nashville, Tennessee but moved to California for fashion and health issues. I am a fashion stylist and a blogger. I worked with Adidas on a lookbook and ever since my passion for fashion has grown more and more.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest is mainly fashion and lifestyle. I post fashion photos as well as everyday life such as food or places around the cities I find myself in.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I wanted an Instagram name that was simple, to the point, and easy to remember. So why not my own name?

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Editing apps I use are VSCO and Airbrush. I use the same HB2 filter for everything, and I adjust little things like the saturation and contrast. Then I use Airbrush to clean up anything that I want moved, enhanced, or changed in the photo.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Madeleine Bitici is my favorite Instagrammer. I love her style and all of the places she goes looks unreal! I also really like @Indaheart and @greylayers.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

They have to try thrifting. It’s so fun and it’s amazing what they’ll find.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love posting and hearing feedback from everyone.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Enhance the things that make you different from the rest. Everyone always wants to see something new and different so you must feed the lion. Also put a lot of effort into each post. It is worth it in the end.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It is important to put in a lot of effort in order to make sure the quality is at it’s best. Original content is what sets you apart from others and attracts people to your page. Just think as if you, yourself are the viewer and what content and quality you would want to see.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like learning new things about brands and parts about the industry. I love trying new things that brands send and getting someone’s input of looks I didn’t think of trying.
