Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Amo @orxyfox

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a 22 year old South African lifestyle blogger and student. I express myself through my work, whether it be modelling, photography or writing. I have a passion for creating content and I fell in love with blogging about a year ago; i had a lot to share and didn’t know where and how to share it with people, so i started my blog Orxyfox.
I’m currently studying a bachelor of Pharmacy, making essential medicines available to those in need is one of my other passions.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My main topic of interest has to be all things fashion, i mostly post outfits that i style myself which best represent me and that specific time in my life. I also share some of my wishlist items on my Instagram, so if i see a nice bag or pair of shoes that i like.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Orxyfox. It’s the name of my personal blog, so i wanted the two to be one thing. But the story of how the name came about is actually funny, i love the horns of the Oryx and i also love foxes, so i decided to combine the two but i ended up misspelling Oryx to orxy and that sounded better so i went with that instead and that’s how orxyfox was born. I really love foxes so i had to incorporate fox in the name. I think foxes speak to a certain aspect of my personality.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mainly use Instagram when i’m on the go, its a great editor and it has all the necessary tools for the type of content that i post. I also use Picsart and Lightroom for more specific editing.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love Margert Zhang, Micah Gianneli and Solange Knowles. They are such great, unique fashionistas who are not afraid to break the rules of fashion and express themselves however they see fit. They are all so different but they each speak to a different aspect of what i aspire to be, which is authentic, different and ”fiesty”.
They inspire me a lot.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

The Essence stick concealer, it’s my current obsession, it’s very affordable and gives great coverage all day. I mainly use it for my eyebrows but it can obviously used for any blemishes and any dark spots.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It has to be sharing what i love or what works for me with people so we can all ”slay” together. There’s no reason why we cant all be great. I also love creating content as i mentioned, it’s what drives me, it’s my fuel. The feedback i get is the best part, when people tell me that they love something or give me some of their tips like what worked for them or if what i suggested worked.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Staying true to who you are, being creative, and picking a team that best represent your brand! Your followers/target market/customers know you so if you try to imitate anyone else/another company it will show and they will know and this can lead to a campaign not being successful. But the team is most important, everyone in your campaign team has to be on the same page with what is required and how that is going to be achieved, working towards a single solid goal with right team increases the probability of success.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The quality in your content shows that you are actually serious about what you do and its your art and your craft. Originality is crucial it makes you stand out from other people who are probably doing the same thing. It represents your professionalism and that attracts business opportunities and lasting relationships. I would advice investing in a camera and taking time out to plan your content. Taking pride in your work reflects in all the other aspects of your life.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love learning new things and the personal growth that comes with that. It’s a great way to expand one’s spectrum and i love assisting brands reach a new or different market.
