Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Paul @pk_snow8

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Paul Kenward and I live at SilverStar Ski Resort in British Columbia, Canada. I have worked in the ski/ snowboard industry for ten years and am currently responsible for running the terrain park and operating a snow cat. I have previously built terrain parks in Australia and have traveled the entire east coast of Australia; including Tasmania. I am currently enrolled in a writing and publishing diploma course at Okanagan College and have had some of my writing published this year. I enjoy the outdoors and you can usually find me playing hockey, skiing or snowboarding in the winter or swimming, hiking, fishing, camping, mountain biking, or riding my motorcycle in the summer.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are vast but my main concerns are writing, photography, skiing, and snowboarding. On Instagram I mostly post mountain views in both summer and winter, lakes, winter sports, animals, and sunrises/ sets.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is based on my initials, my absolute love for winter, and the number I used playing hockey growing up.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I take all my photos with my iPhone and I edit using Instagram; however I hardly ever use the generic filters.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

The Instagrammer whom influences me the most would be either @explorebc or @theglobewanderer

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

If there is one thing I would recommend trying, it is moving to another country for even just a few months and traveling it, or working a season at a ski resort because people from all countries will come to you.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favourite part of being an influence is helping show people what amazing things any regular person can experience just by letting go of their fear of change.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I maintain authenticity by posting original photos and not lying about where I am or what I am doing. I think replying to comments, even a small thank you, really keeps my followers engaged and feeling important. I love to ask them questions as well.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

If it’s not original or you feel you’re not putting your best effort forward why should anyone else care for your work? Be true to yourself and the followers will come because they truly believe in who you really are.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

My favourite part about partnering with brands is discovering new products that I enjoy and can share with other people who I know will benefit from their use as well.
