1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I am a food lover who loves to travel and try new things. I am always on the search for new places to try and to share. I am planning my trip to Mexico right now and also my trip to Japan and Korea next year. I come from Langley now via Calgary, Rio De Janeiro, Peterborough, Osaka and Shimokawa. I like to capture the daily beauty around me and share it.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
My areas of photography with regards to instagram is in the areas of restaurants, food, snacks, dessert, and travel to different places to experience their food and culture
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
I thought long and hard and I really liked the show “where in the world is Carmen San Diego” and the concept of finding things. So Go Find Patrick came from me thinking that this could be a handle to show were I have gone and give suggestions to others.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
Generally I import into lightroom, and start adjusting the different levels and settings, then I move it through VSCO cam or the instagram app to see if any of the filters can tweak it any further to be a better photo.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
@sk_foodoholic @pork_ninjas @sliceofpai I would say are my top 3 fav for food photography as they take a lot of thought in taking interesting angles for food photos.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Molly Moon Ice cream in Seattle, I had it a few years back and prior to that I thought I had ice cream but I was so wrong! The Earl Grey and Salted Caramel ice cream are to die for. The flavour is so amazing that I close my eyes to focus on enjoying each bite.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I enjoy meeting new people, sharing ideas and helping people find places outside of their comfort zone. Prior to instagram I would go to the same couple places, but now with instagram every weekend is a new place.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
To make sure they choose people who live the brand and the ideas and would regardless of the sponsorship. For me that is food and travel, I would do that regardless of getting anything for it as I enjoy it. I think being honest is important too, so much of instagram is based on the relationship with the influencer, if you can’t trust them then the value of their post decreases and it becames more of an AD then a sharing of ideas.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Patiences, time, focus, lots and lots of photos and willing to try new angles and thoughts. I have started to play more with Bokah and am enjoying. I also may take 100 photos for a visit, but only post 2-3. I some days don’t post anything as I want every photo to be my best, and if that means I dont have anything for that day I will wait till I do.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I think it would be getting the chance to try and experience things I may not have the normal opportunity to do so. Also a partnership is a relationship, so being able to provide guidance to the brand to assist them is a good experience.
