1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I’m a musician, guitarist and composer based in New York City. I was raised in Mexico City, where I attended and graduated from Law School. Have always loved music, writing and art, so in 2012 I quit my job as a lawyer to focus completely on what I like the most and in 2013 I moved to New York.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I like to keep my Instagram account honest and authentic, so I post about what I like and about my life, which is mostly about music, guitar, travel, outdoors, rock climbing, writing and art, as well what I live and see in New York City.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
It’s simple, it’s just my name.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I don’t edit my photos, I just use the filters on Instagram. Sometimes there are photoshoots (music related stuff) and I post those pictures too.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I like those accounts that are different and authentic, or those who have stuff that I like. A couple of months ago I traveled to Iceland and it became my favorite place, so I dig their official tourism account @inspiredbyiceland
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Stay true to yourself, there’s no need to over do anything or try to impress anyone. Just be yourself, people can tell the difference.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I don’t like the word “influencer” so I don’t consider myself as one, although there’s a certain following on my account. I really appreciate all the support from different people, so I try to keep my account as positive as possible. If people are looking at my account, then I gotta say something good and send good vibes.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
As I mentioned before: stay true to yourself.
That’s the most valuable thing. Believe or not, people can tell if someone (or something) is authentic or not.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
It’s 2017, because of the technology we have, we’ve seen so much.
As part of the so called “millennial generation” I know first hand we all have all the information we want on our fingertips. There’s so much out there, that if you want to show something it gotta be good and it gotta have certain quality to catch people’s attention.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
As a musician, I endorse many brands that believe in myself as a guitarist the same way I believe in their products and their company. It’s a relationship, I like that.
