1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I am a food photographer, videographer and stylist based in Cape Town, South Africa
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
Food mostly. Restaurant interiors. lifestyle and street photography of Cape Town and travel captures when I travel
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
I wanted my name to be a part of my brand and my friends sometimes call me Heinster. The stirred part came as an idea to give that name a foodie twist.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
Afterlight and the editing tools in Instagram. The shots I took with my Nikon d750 are edited in Lightroom first and I will do a few tweak in instagram since the image size is so much smaller
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I love the travel instagrammers – it allows me to travel when I can’t! @livelovebeirut, @simonlarsen, @visitcopenhagen nd @gmcguireinrome
Some of my favourite food instagrammers are @stedsans_cleansimplelocal, @danielkrieger, @matt_inwood and @elosoconbotas
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Forget about likes, follows and engagement and just enjoy the platform and all the incredible work people create each day
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
Able to share what I am doing and love in a visual way. I love the community that has formed around my social media profiles. You get exposed to so many cultures and new discoveries as the community grow
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Choose influencers that fit your brand and will do justice in creating a beautiful visual story. It’s not all about the amount of followers.
I have to love and understand a brand to take part in a campaign – I think my followers will quickly pick up if I am not being sincere or if my heart is not in it
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
I think it is non negotiable. And the importance of constantly working at your craft to create better quality content can not be underestimated.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I always see it as an opportunity to be challenged creatively and to build a professional network. You never know what it can lead to.
