Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Lyndsay Rinere @lynzrin

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am currently a senior English Communications student at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. I am originally from Madison, Connecticut, a classic small town on the shoreline. On top of being a full-time college student, I am a Social Media Intern for CollegeFashionista, a Marketing and Communications Intern at Aaptiv and an Editorial Intern at Newport Life Magazine!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love food, fashion, photography and travel. My Instagram is compiled of my own personal travel photography, lifestyle and aesthetic shots.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is my full name combined in short hand. A lot of people call me Lynz and I didn’t want to put my entire name as my Instagram handle, I think that’s generic, which I am not!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I actually don’t use any editing apps. I use iPhoto’s editing options to adjust all of my lighting; it’s really useful and it helps me to not over-edit my pictures, which can make them less attractive. I also use the app UNUM to create my Instagram grid before the photos are officially posted, which lets me plan out my posts and keep my colorstory consistent.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love @girlfromtown. Her posts are always really unique and aesthetically pleasing, she also has awesome style.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I cannot recommend the app UNUM enough, I use it every day. If you’re a content creator or someone that likes to kewl their color story clean and consistent, I highly suggest you use it. You can also preplan your captions and see the analytics of your posts.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love the fact that I can show who I am to people through my photography and personal style. I think I have a unique eye and it always feels great to receive praise for being myself through social media.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

One tip I have for a brand running a campaign is to make it seem like a friend is referring a product or service (etc) to you. As long as it doesn’t feel like you’re obviously selling something to your audience, your campaign will feel authentic.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Audiences respond better to high quality original content rather than a repost. First, choose what aesthetic style you want your brand to have, and then create your content from there and keep the colors consistent; that will make your profile come across as professional.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I personally love trying out new products. I will only promote brands I truly believe in and use, so my promotions are coming from a very honest place. I love creating relationships with the companies I work with, as well as their fans.
