Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kaytee Vivienne @kayteevivienne

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m 20 years old and currently living in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I recently graduated in Costume Design and I’m now working as a freelance costume designer and stylist. I most recently worked on Mozart’s, ‘Don Giovanni’ at The Grand Opera House, Belfast. I’ve worked in the film industry since the age of 16, having worked on ‘A Christmas Star’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ within the past couple of years.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I’m a complete girly-girl so it’s no surprise my Instagram feed is very pink and playful. The three main topics I like to post about would have to be fashion, food and travel – three of my favourite things! A lot of my feed is images of me at fashion events and PR events, which I really enjoy going to. You will probably also find a lot of pictures of my pug, Olly!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I kept it simple and stuck with my name. It’s very different so it definitely helps me stand out from the crowd. You can never go wrong with sticking with your name and you’re never going to ‘grow out of it.’

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

The first thing I always do is crop my picture into a square. I’m not a huge fan of filters, but I do love playing with the editing tools that are provided on Instagram. I always up the brightness and contrast and I love the ‘shadow’ and ‘highlights’ tool for getting rid of any harsh, black shadows. It keeps the image looking neat and clean. I’ve also recently started using the ‘sharpen’ tool, which I’m loving!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I’m a huge fan of @taramilktea and @ohhcouture. Their feeds are so girly and creative and they inspire me to travel more and more. My dream location is Japan thanks to Tara! I would love to know their editing secrets because every image looks like it’s been taken from an imaginary planet! Just so beautiful!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Be loud, be creative and LOVE colour! Seriously, the black and white minimalist trend is over – it’s so boring to look at!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

There is no better feeling than reading a comment on your Instagram or Blog from somebody who admires your work. It really makes the hard work pay off because we don’t do it for ourselves, we do it for other people! We are here to inspire.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Study their Instagram and other social media. Do they clearly have brand/campaign experience and are they doing what you expect from them? Do they have a good, real following? Sometime’s you just have to go with your gut. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t risk it. You will eventually find the right influencer.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Original content gets the attention. Be different. If you are posting the same content as everybody else then you aren’t going to stand out and chances are people aren’t going to read into it because they’ve just read it from somewhere else. Think outside the box. What’s missing in this industry? Then it’s up to you to fill the gap.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love how I can personally help a small brand become something bigger. It’s a great feeling when you know you’re helping something small become a bigger and better thing.
