Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kate Guy @itskguy

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Kate Guy and I’m from beautiful Melbourne, Australia. I’m an interior designer, with a strong passion and enthusiasm for creativity, style and any opportunity to show my unique style. This is where my love for posting content came from, it’s simply another outlet for me to express myself and share my life with the world.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love posting lifestyle content, it’s always fun to share what I’m up to! Whether it be outfit posts, travel and nature shots or fitness related posts, I really enjoying keeping it real and being authentic.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name is pretty straight forward, my name ‘Kate Guy’ was already taken so decided to make it ‘itskguy’. I think at the time I had the intention of changing it to something else, but my followers slowly started to grow and now it’s stuck!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

The main apps that I use to edit my photos are Faded, VSCO, Facetune and Boomerang. I like to keep my images pretty natural, but sometimes I like to play around with the sharpness and contrast if I feel it needs it. Instagram has amazing filters built in and I use them a lot too!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are so many instagrammer’s that inspire me! I follow a lot of celebrities, models, travel, fashion and interior design pages. Right now I’m loving ‘myhouseidea’, they post so many beautiful interiors that I wish I could live in.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

One thing you have got to try is travel! There is so much beauty and adventure involved in travelling. I have so many places on my bucket list that I would love to visit. I just can’t think of anything better than exploring the world around us.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love the relationships I’ve made with other influencer’s, as well as interacting with my followers. It continually amazes me how social media has the power to bring people together. I just have so much fun sharing snapshots of my everyday life.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Authenticity is so important! It’s key for brands to know what their values are and to stay true to them. People respond to realness. I only promote products that I wholeheartedly love and believe in and that’s how I maintain my credibility.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Make sure you post content that you would enjoy seeing in your own feed. I like to draw inspiration from other instagram accounts, however I always put my own spin on it. If you are passionate about a certain area, stick to that. Always play to your strengths and that will help you grow and become a more savvy content creator.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like the relationships I build with brands. I want to get behind products I believe in. I see it as teamwork. Creating strong connections is really important to me.
