Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kaitlin Harveston @kharveston

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I was born and raised in a little town of 300, however i found the country life just wasn’t for me. I moved to the Dallas area with my boyfriend of two years, we currently rent a house and have an adorable dog, Paisley. I have a passion for anything photography. I want to become a graphic designer/ blogger. I love how social media brings people together and creates amazing opportunities for people like me who would like to peruse a career out of blogging/ social media/ graphic design.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love photographing anything life and fashion related. I love walking the streets of Dallas photographing the buildings, people, and all the local business such as coffee shops. Fashion wise i’m a big local supporter so i love posting about all the fun things i’ve found at the Dallas local shops.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s simple. My first initial from my first name ( Kaitlin ) and my last name. It’s easy for people to remember 🙂

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I’m a die hard VSCO user. I also use photoshop to help edit out things that I don’t totally love in the photos.

Routine:
– Photoshop: Brighten, add contrast, whiten out like dots or imperfections
– VSCO : Select my filter ( A4, A6, or M4) and then to any sharpening or adjusting to the brightness/ contrast that didn’t get fixed to perfecting in photoshop

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I have 3 instagrammers who really inspire me.
– @lindspruitt I find Lindsey the most inspiring, her love for the world and people around her really shows through in her photos, plus she’s got amazing style
– @karen.lao I admire her photography skill/ photoshop skills
– @aleksandrazee I love her woodworking, it’ seriously amazing and her sense of adventure is great. I love opening up Instagram to see what new beach she’s found.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

dark chocolate latte ( I’m a major coffee lover )

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being able to represent brands and being able o introduce my followers to new products that could really benefit them wether that be an outfit that boosts there self image to a new coffee i found that could make their tastebuds go crazy.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Stay true to the brand, but be open to new ideas that could really benefit

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality and originality is key in social media. It’s how you get noticed. I feel that Instagram and blogging is a way to express myself and the things I love. I know personally I wouldn’t want to follow up with people who clearly aren’t being true to themselves. Trying to be someone else takes the fun out of it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Being able to represent brands I really enjoy and being able to intrude my followers to new things.
