Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Eliza Chyna @sheismccartney

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi! I’m Chyna and I’m a 20 year old freelance designer from the Philippines and occasionally Singapore. I currently just finished a degree in Fine Arts majoring in Information Design and I plan to take up a course on being a Pole Fitness instructor.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

One will always find me browsing through Instagram, Pinterest, and Youtube on topics such as art, events, fitness, cruelty-free living, and travel. Most of my Instagram posts will reflect my interests as they revolve around these same topics.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My username on almost all of my social media accounts is @sheismccartney. I made this when I was in high school because I have the biggest crush on Sir Paul McCartney and it’s been a dream to be his next wife, thus “she is McCartney.” This then stuck and I’ve been wanting to change it but I’m still looking for something that will suit me.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

If I’m to edit my photos on my laptop, my go-to softwares would be Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. If I were to edit my photos on my phone, the apps I love using are Snapseed, Darkroom and VSCO.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

The Instragrammers I look up to and inspire me the most would be @maximilianehansen, @maddielymburner, @kryzzzie, @janinavela, among others.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

If I were to advertise anything to my fellow Instagram users, it would be to start putting an effort into taking care of Mother Earth. This can be done in different ways such as reducing one’s waste, going vegan, and even adapting a cruelty-free and sustainable lifestyle. This will not only save the planet but it will also make us end up feeling great about ourselves.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer would be that I can use my platform to reach out to those who follow me and so much more about my advocacies and different social issues. I want to be able to use my voice and make others hear what I have to say about certain issues.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

A tip would be to stay true to their brand and to always think outside of the box. Brands that always stay inside the box will be seen a predictable and boring. Each brand should always fire up their creative engine and just keep spewing out unique and original ideas to run their campaigns so that they will always be seen as fun and never dull. As mentioned, staying true to who you really are is a way of maintaining authenticity. It should always be about quality and never the quantity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

As mentioned in the previous question, quality should always be more important than quantity. Always have quality content instead of worrying all about the numbers, followers, or likes you will be getting because of a post. One can maintain quality by posting authentic and original content. This can be achieved by just following your heart, stay true to who you are, and never fabricate your content to something that you think other people might like. Don’t be a people pleaser. Be content with your content and that should be enough.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Partnering with brands helps one grow and learn different things. It allows one to explore different brands and learn about each and every one of them. This is what I like best about partnering with brands. You don’t just help each other but you also help other people get to know the brands you really, truly love and support.
