Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Devesh Baheti @_thenakedsoul_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a 22 year old self appointed lifestyle blogger, who graduated with a degree in aeronautical engineering this year. I have always had a flair for the creative side since the beginning of my remembering capacity, and this started to boost with my Instagram account. What started off as something I did in vain – to get likes on selfies, using the Valencia filter, I started to write bits and bobs of my thoughts on it, and that lead me to my first amateur blog. Posts went by, and I actually created a niche of my own with my words, and pictures.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post content based on my mood. Being a creator, it’s always fun for me to try investing my energy in trying to find my interests. Photography, DIY, writing, fashion – all of these are my major interests but I don’t like to cage myself in terms of what I can post on Instagram as it’s just an extension of My personality.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I think my Instagram name has come about in a way where it resonates with transparency. For me, when I write there is no barrier or a wall, it’s as if I’m writing in my journal. To my readers and viewers, it’s almost relatable – the emotion. And hence, The Naked Soul came about. Because being naked comes with a certain sense of vulnerability but a whole lot of confidence.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I don’t usually edit my pictures a whole lot. I use the inbuilt fade filter on the iPhone and just rely on natural sunlight to take clean and crisp pictures.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I think an influencer’s position is of a lot of responsibility. We usually don’t get the credit for what we do in the sense where people tend to box us into categories of being sell outs – where as having a target audience who comes to you for various different needs creates a lot of pressure of performance. But I think rising to those challenges is my favourite part. The experiences, the monetary perks and of course – the goodies!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Don’t ask for a blogger to change their style to match products.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think it’s how you wish to brand and market yourself. For me personally authentic posts matter a lot for my brand as an influencer – but to each his own.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

As I mentioned previously, it gives you a sense of power, control. And nobody is upset with the goodies and exposure that it brings with it.
