Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Aleeza Joy Cruz @aleezacruz

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am currently a college student from The University of the Philippines Diliman taking up BA Speech Communication Minor in Political Science. Besides academics, I also do makeup and hosting on the side. I love speaking and doing talks. I also born and raised in the Arts Capital of the Philippines.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My number one passion is definitely the art of makeup. I don’t just use it as cosmetics because there are so much that makeup can do. I create editorial and other creative looks and post it on instagram. Sometimes, I do fashion too.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram handle is simply my real name. I want my profile to really reflect me and let it be something I am proud of. That’s why my name is in caps lock. The spelling of my name is also quite unique and that’s what I want to be.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use lightroom and facetune. My editing routine is actually really simple. Editing photos is one of my weaknesses. I use lightroom for minor adjustment of the tones, brightness and to really whiten my background. Then I use facetine to smoothen my face a bit. Sometimes, I change my eye color because I can’t wear contact lenses. And that’s it. I don’t like using filters.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

@abbyroberts @mmmmitchel definitely inspire me the most. Their creativity level and consistency really motivates me. I aspire to be like them.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try to lessen the editing of eyeshadow colors. Sadly, some makeup artists edit the color of their facepaint or eyeshadows.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part is definitely when my followers message me as to how I inspired them to be better and work for their dreams. Whenever someone tells me that my work pushed them to do something that makes them happy too, I feel so fulfilled. It’s really how we make an impact to others.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I hope more brands encourage honesty and accept constructive criticism more. If an influencer tells them why they don’t like something, be more open minded for your improvement. It will be a better relationship when brands are open to talk to the influencer.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Don’t be pressured and compare yourself with other’s content. The goal is always to stand out. Your posts should be what you love and who you are in order to really leave a footprint.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It’s the lessons and new insights I learn from each brand I appreciate the most. I am able to really explore various ideas because every brand has a different vision. The relationship we create with brands also help us grow hand in hand.
