Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Victor Flores Somarriba @victorsomarriba

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I was actually born in Managua, Nicaragua, but been living in Guadalajara, Mexico my whole life. I love art in all its manifestations. I am an architect who does landscaping architecture for a living. I like to think of myself as a sensitive person.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

What I post on Instagram the most is my daily life, actually. Places I visit and the photomontages I do as art. But I have been thinking of opening up my feed to other aspects. I’m interested in topics such as traveling, wellness (I do yoga), entretainment and life style, even fashion.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It is my first name and my second last name. I wanted people to know who I was, recognizing me by my name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

A lot of them are actually a combination of two or more photos. I blend them with the ImageBlender app, I really enjoy cutting and mixing them. Practically all my photos (the mixed ones and the originals) go through the same process. I edit them first with VSCO, some of them then go through the Mextures app (here I just add one filter) and end up editing them in Instagram.

Cool vintage frames (eyeglasses).

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Getting people to see my feed on Instagram, let them know what I do… try to comunicate with them through my pictures.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

To always keep honest, and to let people know they can be awsome everyday. To try to reach everyone in a certain level.

Authenticity is mantained by being true to yourself, it sounds as a cliche, but it is true. It’s cool trying to adapt, but one must always remain oneself, remembering what makes you what you are and why.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Consuming original content is essential. I don´t conceive people consuming products that are copies.

If you want quality, buy original products.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love the challenge to show a brand through what I do. I’m sure it puts my creativity to the test. I like to think I succeed doing it.
