Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Vanessa Qin @vqeu

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hello! My name is Vanessa, and I’m from the Bay Area, now a student in Los Angeles. I’m studying design, communication and entrepreneurship, and run a fashion blog in my free time on YouTube and Instagram.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I got into Instagram for style and fashion, but I’m also a foodie and lifestyle blogger.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My handle is a spelled out version of my initials, VQ!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My holy grail app is VSCO, and I also use photo retouch and Snap seed.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love Jenn Im, Amy Vagabond, and other street style/lifestyle bloggers.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Interact with your followers as much as you can!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being able to meet people who are interested in the same things as I am. The best feeling is making a connection with my followers.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think it’s important to be clear what you want and expect from an influencer when you’re starting a campaign, but be flexible and allow them the breathing room for them to exercise their creativity on the topic. Trust that your influencer knows their audience base, and knows how to connect with them best.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Never post anything you’re not proud of! Always look for inspiration from your fellow bloggers.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love being able to keep up with upcoming trends, and take the opportunity to push myself out of my style comfort zone and introduce that to others.
