1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
Teresa is currently a student studying Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. Andy graduated from UBC and works as a pharmacist. We both live in the beautiful city of Vancouver, British Columbia.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
Our main focus on Instagram is to connect local and worldwide foodies to the unique multicultural food scene in British Columbia. We only post photos of food, but basically anything edible will make it onto our Instagram.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
Food is an integral part of our relationship. We actually met during a Dine Out Vancouver event hosted by one of our mutual foodie friends. Our Instagram name emerged from our love for food and the fact that we wouldn’t have met if it weren’t for that foodies event.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
We use Snapseed and Instagram to edit our photos. We typically only edit our photos for colour enhancement and sharpening of the details. So the main functions we use are brightness, contrast, structure, and sharpening.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
We really like @thesushifoodie, @foodyensation, and @bokehbites. Overall, @foodyensation inspires us the most because he has incredible food photos in very unique angles and the colour is just right!
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
For locals, we suggest you head on over to Ajisai and order their lobster California roll. If we had a last meal, this is what we’d get!
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
Our favourite part about being an influencer is connecting people to food that they wouldn’t have otherwise found on their own. It’s about giving that brand new thing a try!
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Be honest and be open-minded for constructional criticism or feedback. As an influencer, we want to promote something that we are just as passionate about as you are! We maintain authenticity by posting the truth; however, this does not mean we will bash a company for their product if we aren’t completely loving it. We do emphasize that what we post is our opinion and may not reflect others’ views.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Remember that your version of good quality may not match with others’, but strive to put your best content out there because whatever you post tells a little something about you. If you aren’t fully satisfied with the quality of photo, keep working on it or make sure you have multiple shots of the same thing. We believe that original and high-quality content is very important because you want to show the world the best version of yourself through a great photo.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
We love discovering new brands that we can confidently promote. There’s always products that we’ve never heard of, but would love to give a try. It’s even better when we’re able to stand behind a brand and tell our version of the story.
