Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Taylor Kario Jamali @livingwildside

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi I’m Taylor from Malaysia. I’m turning 23 soon on July 29th. I was born and living in Papua New Guinea til i was 9 then I move to Malaysia. Also, I have Australian mom & Malaysian dad. I am currently working from home as a Marketing Coordinator and ambassador.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I’m interested in fitness, animals, nature and travel. I mostly post about my pet which is frogs because I love exotic animals, my ootd, travel photos basically everything about my life.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name used to be taylorjamali then I changed it to livingwildside because I wanted to have a unique Instagram name. Honestly, it took me almost a month to figure it out and since I’m a very outgoing kinda person, I decided to have a name that represents my life. My Instagram name means I am living my wild side of life which you can see it from my pictures on gram.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I only use VSCO.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Cupcake_aisyah!! She is the reason why I started vlogging, editing, be creative and being myself. Whenever I feel demotivated or anxious I will watch her youtube videos, IG stories and her tiktok videos to make me feel better. She literally have a big influence on me.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Others would say the best thing is helping people discover new things, new places, and sharing experiences that they would have otherwise not known about. Also, I love taking photos with the free stuffs I got because I lost myself during this global pandemic and getting sponsored makes me energetic and feel alive. It keeps me going.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

I never knew that there are a platform for content creator to join any campaigns. I just applied a few campaigns yesterday and got accepted. I did not expect it to be this fast! StarNgage has made my life more easier!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

In running a campaign, I believe it is important for a brand or any organisation to have a “Before, During, After” plan. This is to know what needs to be prepared, what’s the goal of the campaign, and what’s the outcome of it all.

Firstly in ‘Before’ plan, the purpose of the campaign being held must be concise and it has to have a goal which then would drive the organisation to achieve it.

In ‘During’, specifically on the day of the campaign, I would emphasize more on ‘team-leading’ as it requires more physicality than theory & planning. Therefore making the ‘Before’ plan the most important part as it clears out every aspects of roles of what needs to be done on the day of the campaign.

‘After’ is where the results of all the hard work would be evaluated whether it has bear fruit or otherwise, in which all the analysis and statistics from the outcome of the campaign would be significant for an upcoming campaign in the future.

Lastly, I strongly believe authenticity are kept by practicing traditions and staying true in itself. In this situation, authenticity of a brand are seen unique as it differs from other competitors by having a particular trademark in its materials, designs, and overall aesthetics. Therefore, only by altering what’s within those aspects can we maintain authenticity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

In creating a creative multimedia content, it is important to not perceive it as an assignment that would simply burdens your mindset to finish it. Instead, take it as an opportunity to explore and try new things, perhaps by promoting the brand by doing new trends in the internet.

Realistically, there would be no potential customers if they weren’t in urgent need of the product. Therefore, formal promotional video would simply be pointless to those who views it without initial intention of purchasing the product.

The point being made here is that the importance of creating a quality and original content is also the answer to attract potential and targeted customers. As aforementioned, only by doing fresh ideas of creative content can the brand or organization attracts the eyes of viewers. To illustrate the statement, creating a current trend of 15-seconds Tiktok “clothes haul” video would have a higher engagement than a 2-minutes corporate promotional video. In addition to that, a shorter video would be easier to commercialized in various social networks.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The opportunity to work with amazing brands! I’m forever grateful with this opportunity because this collaborating thingy has always been passion and now I’m still trying to turn my passion into a profession.
