Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Tanya @tingyan

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Tanya. I am 24 and I am from Hong Kong. I am an entrepreneur, having a vision to turn impossibilities to possibilities. As a young lady, I have been going against the norm for starting up a men’s fashion brand, The Hackney, which specialises in sartorial clothing. My another passion is on the outdoor! I have been an nature addict. Having been travelling around different parts of the world, adventuring the world has been my lifetime goal! 2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest would be adventures, outdoors, nature photography, travelling photography and all sorts. Things that I post most on my Instagram would be my adventuring and mountaineering posts!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram page is named “tingyan”, a sort of short and easy to remember account name, which comes from my Chinese name, “Ting Yan”.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I normally use Snapseed plus Instagram for photo-editing.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try with the sports gear that I use and the hiking routes that I suggested.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Promoting my values, my beliefs to a wide audience. Get more people to be involved in the outdoor and nature!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

The taglines have to be short and sharp! Knowledge and information have to be involved in the caption. Sharp image and dynamic pictures. I maintain authenticity by capturing actions that involve difficulties, like climbing to dangerous mountain edges, trail running on tough trails, etc.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The photo composition, the colours and actions involved in the pictures.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It would be easy for me to try out new products and letting my followers know about the nice products from the brands.
