1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
My name’s Sue-Anne, you can call me Sue. I work in an advertising agency, in account management. I was born and raised in Penang and I am now working in Kuala Lumpur.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I love food and I cannot lie. However, all these foods also turns me into a plus size. So besides posting about my food adventure, I also post about fashion, my OOTD. I hope to inspire curvy people and to let them know that being a plus size doesn’t mean you can dress up and be fabulous.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
My Instagram name is real simple. It’s just my name, and I love it 🙂
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I usually just edit my pictures with the usual Instagram edits, I don’t usually put on filter because I want the colour to be as close to the real deal as it is. However, at times when I am feeling less lazy. I will edit with VSCO or Snapseed.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
For food photography, I am really inspired by Carol.Eats, Zachary Yeoh and Squarepad. As for fashion, I get wow-ed away by Manfattan, Allison Teng (curvygirlchick) and Jennifer Buckingham. They are the one that brought confidence to be that we can still flaunt, even with some extra fats.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Everything! Life is too short to try just ONE thing. Go ahead and try as much as you can. Life is an adventure, don’t worry about tomorrow. Worry about today, the present!
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
To be able to inspire people on doing what they think they can’t do, or just never had the confidence in doing. Also, to be able to introduce people to what is great out there. To be a trend-setter.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
I will not show too much brand in the picture, just minor details like a logo on a tissue (if it’s a cafe). My description will always be as neutral as possible without pushing people into the wrong direction
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Subtlety is the key. Just because it’s a sponsored post, doesn’t mean the branding must be prominent, it can be mentioned briefly in the content. Write everything based on your own thoughts, it doesn’t have to be professionally written but it needs to come from you.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Understanding better about their brands and why do they do what they do. Being in advertising myseld, I’m always intrigued with what made them choose the name of the brand, what triggers them to start up a brand, and more.
