1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
Hello I’m Sophie from Melbourne, Australia. Most people would describe me as a woman on a mission- I have this drive to be creative and active in absolutely every capacity of my life. I am a first and foremost a musician having trained as an opera singer for a third of my life (and counting!). But I am so many things… I am an explorer. I am a writer for SHESNOGOOD and I am a lover of all things human. I believe in free love, equality and acceptance. Everything I do and say is in accordance with that idea. LOVE. That’s what I wanna talk about. I find that travel, music, dance and making things helps me reach out and connect with people with the purpose of sending a simple message- I am right here with you.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I post on travel! Beautiful locations I have been so fortunate to visit in my lifetime. There is no better education than getting out of your house, your country and into a new environment. You inevitably witness the fact that we are all blood and bones here with the same core values. This heals like nothing else, no matter where you are coming from.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
My Instagram is connected to my blog (shesnogood.com) where I write about absolutely everything and anything. The main focus there is on travel, art, music and perpetuating that GRL POWR.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
To edit my photos my absolute favourite app has to be VSCO. The range of options available give you the flexibility to create the perfect light, colour and focus. Plus it’s super easy to use.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I really love following the myriad of online magazines going around at the moment. Really raw and rough images showing perspectives that truly speak to my heart. I also love a good feminist/girl power message to kick my butt into the week/ keep my chin held high. Anything with fresh and uplifting content is my game. Some of my favourites have to be: @theloversanddriftersclub , @urmumsyadad , @otherwild , @gabriel_held and @honestlywtf
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
You gotta try the @frankbody body scrub slash their entire range. Their coffee scrub has absolutely reinvented my shower routine, and now I exit the bathroom door feeling like a QUEEN smelling of coconut butter and delicious coffee. It is divine.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
My favourite part about being an influencer is trying products and giving a REAL interpretation of how they are for the average gal. I believe in honesty and I think its a wonderful opportunity for brands to allow their customers to make informed decisions before purchasing.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
I think the main thing is that brands allow for the campaign to run with enough time for their audience to take it in slowly. Nobody likes to be drowned in pictures and guarantees- it doesn’t seem authentic or real. People are well informed and armed with the tools to research in order to find the best options. Respecting that fact allows people to come to you in a way that allows for organic marketing where they make a decision based on that very consideration.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Saying Be Yourself seems a little cliche. But of course I’m going to say it. There are so many people out there doing incredible things. You cannot be them and nor should you. Create content that sits well in your eye/heart. Be true to you and that will always speak to people. Your inner self is what we all wanna see, and the most successful of us show that tiny piece of heart.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I love brands that are creating products that look towards making people live and love better. Thinking positive, treating yourself and taking care of yourself in all aspects of life are things that I think can benefit everyone to no end! Lets make this world more colorful!
